What is KAI?
KAI is an acronym for the Kirton Adaptive-Innovative Inventory. It is a psychometric measure of preferred thinking style based on thirty-two multiple-choice questions.

It has been extensively researched and used in the management of team and group diversity in the corporate, academic and therapeutic worlds over the last fifty years.

KAI provides a measure of one’s preferred thinking or problem-solving style on a non-pejorative scale ranging from ‘Adaptive’ to ‘Innovative’.

It is particularly helpful in understanding individual preferences within a group and in enhancing collaboration within a team. The closer the individual scores in a team, the less coping behaviour is required, the greater the collaboration between team members is achieved and the more homogenous and efficient the team can be.

We are KAI certified and are authorised to use the measure when working with groups and teams. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you and your team understand how they can work together more efficiently and productively.
